Yamashita Tomohisa

Yamashita Tomohisa was born on April 9, 1985 in Funabashi, Chiba Prefecture, Japan
The real name is Aoki Tomohisa, the name of Yamashita (mother’s last name), Tomo took after his father left the family.
Yamashita Tomohisa, the most common pronunciation of this name is YamaPi, so his name is fans, it’s very easy to chant at concerts, so his name is friends and senpai, so his name is even at home. Tomo also prefers to be called Yamapi. He received this nickname from Takizawa Hideaki. Yamapi is an abbreviation of the name Yamashita and the English word pink. He is also called Pi (the first time he was called so by the Akanishi Jin)
He began working with Johnny’s Entertainment at the age of 11 in the Johnny’s Juniors group.
Since joining JE, he has been a member of teenage groups such as B.I.G. (“BIG”), “Four Tops” and “NewS”. On October 7, 2011, YamaPi left the group. From that moment began a solo career.
Tomohis began acting in television series almost immediately after joining Johnny’s. In 2000, when he was 15 years old, he received an award for “Best Supporting Role” for his role in the series “Ikebukuro Park at the West Gate”. In the same year, he was first nominated for the title of “Best Boyfriend”, “The Most Beautiful Singer.”
In 2002, Takizawa Hideaki and Imai Tsubasa formed the group Tackey & Tsubasa (Takei and Tsubasa), as a result of which Takizawa ceased to be the leader of Johnny’s Juniors. At the same time, Yamapi, Ikuta Toma (Ikuta Toma), Hasegawa Jun (Hasegawa Jun) and Kazama Shunsuke (Kazama Sinsuke) formed the group “Four Tops” and began to host the teenage TV show Shounen Club (“Boys Club”). In September 2003, nine Johnny’s Juniors members were selected to create a new group called “NewS” with Yamapi as the leader. The formation of the “NewS” group was a shock not only for the fans of the “Four Tops” group, but also for the members themselves. In subsequent interviews, the singer repeatedly admitted that at that time he was familiar with only one of the future classmates – Nishikido Ryo.
The NewS group officially debuted on May 12, 2004. Since then, they have released 4 songs in a row, which won first place in the Oricon Ranking Chart (“Oricon Hit Parade”). In October 2005, Yamapi and Kamenashi Kazuya temporarily created a duet called “Shuiji to Akira” (“Shuji and Akira”) to advertise the new series “Promotion Nobuta”, in which they played the main roles (Shuji and Akira – the names of their characters in the series) . They released the single “Seishun Amigo”, which sold its millionth edition in the first 4 weeks. “Seishun Amigo” ranks first in the Oricon Yearly Single Rating for the 2005 Oricon Hit Parade.
In 2006, Yamapi starred in the film adaptation of the manga of the same name about scammers – “Kurosagi” and, as a result, in May 2006 recorded his first solo single “Daite Senorita”, which is the soundtrack to this drama. The song immediately takes off to the top of the charts and takes 1st place in Oricon.
In June 2006, the actor was included in another “mixed” group of Johnny’s Entertainment – “No Border”, which also includes Matsumoto Jun (from Arashi), Murakami Shingo (from Kanjani 8), Sato Atsuhiro (Satou Atsuhiro), Ikuta Tom (from Johnny’s Junior’s), Dotomo Koichi (from Kinki Kids), Yamaguchi Tatsuya (from TOKIO) and Takizawa Hideaki (from Tackey & Tsubasa). The group was created when these 8 members from various JE groups met at dinner, after which they decided to call themselves “No Border”. As you know, JE has very loose kohai-senpai relations and there is a very interesting 7-part story posted in their diaries telling about the creation of this group. Each participant had their own color – white, black, red, pink, purple, gold, blue and gray, however, it is still unknown who chose which color.
In the second half of 2006, Yamapi and the duo of two Thai brothers Golf & Mike teamed up with Kitayama Hiromitsu of Kis-my-ft2, Ino Kei of JJExpress, Totsuka Shota of ABC, and Yatoma Hikaru ( Yaotome Hikaru from Ya-Ya-Yah) to the new Kitty GYM band. This team was assembled to support the Japanese women’s volleyball team. In August 2006, Kitty GYM released the single “Fever to Future”.
In 2007, Yamashita returned to the scene as a member of the NewS band. In the same year, Yamapi starred in two more adaptations: in January 2007, along with Koki Tanaka and Taisuki Fujigaya in a remake of the 1986 film of the same name – in the historical drama Byakkotai and in the romantic series Operation Love, which was released in Japan in 2007.
In 2008, the actor was invited to the role of an ambulance doctor in the medical series “Code” Blue “. The actor will repeat this role more than once. In 2010, the small screens” Code “Blue” are released. Season 2. In 2018, YamaPi starred in ” Code “Blue” Season 3. Then comes out
mini-drama “Code” Blue “: Another ordinary day” and the full-length film “Code” Blue “.
